Toshiba announces a new Polycom 8002 SIP wireless phone for CIX.
Toshiba is pleased to announce a new addition to the Polycom© SpectraLink© 8000-Series of SIP wireless telephones. The new SpectraLink 8002 IEEE 802.11b handset operates over an existing 802.11b/g WLAN using SIP, registering directly to the Toshiba Strata® CIX? system without any gateway requirements. The 8002 handset provides a wireless extension to your existing Strata CIX system solution, providing interoperability with Strata CIX features and SIP line extension dialing, and is a significant cost saving alternative to intra-office cellular communications.
The 8002 includes WMM QoS standards-compatibility, 4-line backlit display, four (4) softkeys for up to 16 programmable functions, and support for other advanced CIX features.
The Polycom 8002 telephone, and other third-party SIP products, now support multi-line capability. This provides call waiting and other key multi-line features.

Annoucing Strata CIX Integration with Microsoft Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging
Toshiba is pleased to announce the immediate availability of an analog to SIP Media Gateway from Dialogic that facilitates a voice mail integration between any Strata CIX and Microsoft’s Exchange 2007 Server Unified Messaging solution.
Microsoft has developed a Unified Messaging solution embedded in their Exchange 2007 Server product. Microsoft’s SIP based solution supports the messaging (email, voice, fax) requirements for an enterprise.
With the purchase of Dialogic’s Media Gateways, Toshiba customers can benefit from Microsoft’s messaging solution and Toshiba’s reliable Strata CIX phone systems.
The Dialogic Media Gateway (DMG) converts a Strata CIX analog station line into the appropriate Session Initiating Protocol (SIP) that is supported by Microsoft Exchange. The Dialogic Media Gateway also has a serial port connector that can be attached to the serial port interface of the Strata CIX for SMDI support. The gateways can also support DTMF Inband integration. Toshiba will be reselling a 4-port and 8-port model of the Dialogic Media Gateway.
